NARPO Doncaster

The Doncaster Branch has more than 500 members consisting of retired officers, widows and widowers of officers, Associate members including several retired support staff and people from other walks of life, several Life members, Additional members and one Honorary member. Their ages range from 40 to 90+ years and the retired officers come from the Forces that amalgamated to create South Yorkshire Police, and some from other parts of the country. So there is a diversity of opinion, member requirements, and the opportunity to be involved in the organisation and direction of the Branch.

We hold the Annual General Meeting in March/April, and a less formal meeting in October, each year. These take place at Club 39 in Doncaster. We also have a Communications manager and an e-mail circulation system that has over 200 members listed. The Committee arranges social events throughout the year, eg Quiz evening with supper, a bowls evening against a local team followed by a buffet and indoor games, visit to a Flower show, a golf match, a Christmas dinner/ Dance.

Closure of Club 39

It is with great regret that almost 15 years after opening the Sports & Social Club has had no alternative but to close Club 39 in Doncaster due to the current economic situation. Many thanks to all the loyal customers over the years.
Any queries relating to the closure should be addressed to the Club CEO Peter Darling at peter.darling@niagaracentre.co.uk
